Türkiye could have 10,000 electric charging stations by the end of 2023

The growing demand for electric cars and the sales success of electric vehicles such as the new TOGG T10X – the first Turkish electric car, of which since its price was known and went on sale on March 16, more than 177,400 units have already been sold – will force an increase in electric charging stations throughout the country, according to sector experts. If at the beginning of March the Energy Market Regulatory Agency (EPDK) gave Tesla the go-ahead to operate its network of superchargers in the country, it is estimated that by the end of 2023 the number of charging points for electric vehicles in Turkey could reach 10,000, according to the Association of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles of Turkey. Currently there are already 119 companies operating 3,728 chargers throughout the country, 646 of them of fast charging (DC); among them are Tesla itself or Trugo, a brand linked to TOGG. Since 2021, electric sales in Türkiye have increased by 90%.
