Turkish Airlines named best airline in Europe

Turkish Airlines has also received the award for the best airline in southern Europe and the best business class catering in the world.

Turkish Airlines, the state-owned airline of Turkey, has been named the best airline in Europe at the World Airline Awards organized each year in London by the independent British air transport auditor Skytrax.

The awards given by Skytrax are divided into 7 different categories based on surveys carried out by the British auditor, which include more than 14 million comments made by clients from more than 100 different countries. The Turkish company SunExpress, a company jointly owned by Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa based in Antalya, has also received the award for the “Best Leisure Airline in the World“.

“With our focus on service, which distinguishes us from our competitors, we will continue to take steps to fulfil the goal of making Turkish Airlines the best in the world,” said Ahmet Bolat, president of the company, after receiving the award. Precisely, once again and for the 7th year, the award for the best airline in the world has been awarded this year to Qatar Airways.

Turkish Airlines transported 46.6 million passengers in the first eight months of 2022, 29.65 million of them international, which represents an increase of 2.6% compared to the same period in 2019, before the start of the pandemic. In addition to being named “Best Airline in Europe”, Turkish Airlines has also received the award for “Best Airline in Southern Europe” and “Best Business Class Catering in the World“.
