6,289 coronavirus positives were registered in Turkey in the last 24 hours, 743 of them with symptoms and the rest asymptomatic.
Turkey maintains a moderate number of coronavirus infections that is around 6,000 daily cases, after another 6,289 positive cases were detected throughout the country in the last 24 hours, according to the most recent data published late on Thursday by the Ministry of Health.
Of the 6,289 cases detected between Wednesday and Thursday, 743 are patients with COVID-19 symptoms and the rest are asymptomatic, according to information released by the ministry. In total, the number of infections detected to date in Turkey since the first case of coronavirus was registered in March rises to more than 2.41 million.
The death toll from the pandemic so far is 24,640, including 153 deaths in the last 24 hours; in addition, 2.29 million patients have overcome the disease since the outbreak of the pandemic, including 6,113 who were discharged on the last day. On the other hand, the number of coronavirus patients admitted to intensive care continues to decline and now stands at 2,074.
In the last 24 hours, another 165,109 virus tests were carried out, adding a total of more than 28 million COVID-19 tests carried out in the country. The good evolution of daily cases of coronavirus and the good rhythm of the vaccination campaign is leading the Turkish authorities to consider reopening schools and lifting restrictions.
