Turkey, high resolution satellite İMECE

Turkey launches into space the İMECE, its first high-resolution satellite

Turkey launched into space this Saturday the İMECE, its first self-made high-resolution Earth observation satellite, which was launched into orbit with a rocket launched this morning from the Vandenberg Space Force Base, located in California. For the next 5 years, İMECE will remain in a sun-synchronous orbit at 680 km altitude performing tasks in the fields of defense, natural disaster management, environment, urban planning, agriculture and forests, thanks to its high resolution electro-optical camera, also developed in Türkiye. İMECE is the most advanced observation satellite launched into space by Turkey in terms of image resolution, communication speed and maneuverability.
