Israel, air attacks on Gaza

Turkey harshly condemns Israel’s attacks on Gaza

Turkey denounces that the Israeli army air strikes on the Gaza Strip have caused dozens of civilian victims, many of them children.

Turkey today strongly condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Gaza in which dozens of civilians, including children, have been killed, a day after Ankara also condemned the Israeli security forces’ crackdown on Muslim worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the occupied sector of East Jerusalem.

“We strongly condemn the airstrikes launched by Israel in the Gaza Strip that have killed many innocent people, including children. We pray that God has mercy on the souls of those who have lost their lives in the attack, and we wish a speedy recovery for the wounded,” said the text of the statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of the Interior.

The statement added that Israel is primarily responsible for the deterioration of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, while denouncing Israel’s attacks on Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

“It is clear that Israel’s aggressive and provocative policies will not contribute to efforts to end violence in the Middle East, and to ensure that dialogue and reconciliation prevail,” the text added.

In addition to harshly condemning Israel’s attacks on Gaza, the communiqué issued from Turkey urges the Israeli authorities to “immediately end” the military aggression against Palestinians, insisting that the Israeli government must understand that the demands legitimate rights of the Palestinian people cannot continue to be ignored.
