Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş match

7 goals in the derby between Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş

Istanbul’s classic derby resulted in Beşiktaş’s first victory in 15 years at the Fenerbahçe’s Stadium.

Beşiktaş achieved a historic victory in the match played on Sunday night at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul, defeating Fenerbahçe for the first time since April 2005 in its stadium in the classic Istanbul derby, when won with a result identical to that achieved last night in the 10th week of the Turkish league: 3-4 in favor of the Black Eagles.

The Eagles took the lead after just 4 minutes into the game, when Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar scored the 0-1 with a left-footed shot in the area that slipped Fener goalkeeper Altay Bayındır between the legs. Again Aboubakar would be the author of the second goal for the Istanbul’s European shore team, when he masterfully finished off in the area with a header; however, 14 minutes later Papiss Demba scored the first goal for the Yellow Canaries, finishing the ball under the posts after a corner kick.

Just 5 minutes after the second half started Cyle Larin received his second yellow for a slap in the face to Gökhan Gönül, leaving Beşiktaş with only 10 players on the field; despite this, the team led by Sergen Yalçın showed its superiority on the pitch, scoring just 3 minutes later to 1-3, thanks to a header in the area by Necip Uysal that Bayındır could not stop despite a spectacular stretch out. Uysal just scored his first goal since October 26, 2015.

In 68 Ozan Tufan came for the locals, finishing a ball in the area that moments before Pelkas had sent to the crossbar, placing the scoreboard at 2-3; however, Beşiktaş resisted despite being outnumbered, and in the 88th minute it scored his fourth goal, made by Fabrice N’Sakala after a counter strike on the right wing and a spectacular run by his teammate, Georges-Kevin N ‘Koudou.

The game seemed ready for sentence but already in the discount the VAR awarded a penalty to the locals that Ozan Tufan transformed without problems again, establishing the final 3-4. With this victory, Beşiktaş increases its account to 16 points and rises from 7th to 4th place, while Fenerbahçe falls one place to 3rd and gives 2nd place to Galatasaray, who won in Rize and already has 20 points, only 3 behind the leader, the Alanyaspor.
